Pune, Jaipur, Surat, Kochi, Ahmedabad, Jabalpur, Visakhapatnam, Solapur, Davanagere, Indore, Coimbatore, Kakinada, Belagavi, Udaipur, Guwahati, Chennai, Ludhiana and Bhopal are alternate urban areas chose in the main group.
"No one can stop a thought whose time has come and this applies to the Smart City (activity too)," Naidu said while declaring the rundown of urban communities that were chosen through the 'Shrewd City Challenge Competition'.
Praising the victors of the opposition, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, "I wish the urban areas the absolute best as they push ahead with usage and change urban India."
