Remove Application from Startup Windows

How to remove the application from Startup of Windows operating system to improve the performance or reduce the system startup time.

This post explains you in detail how to improve your performance by removing the unwanted or rarely used applications to be stopped from loading at the windows startup.

All the applications which loads at the startup of the windows is stored in the system configuration files called "msconfig.exe".

MSConfig is system configuration and troubleshooting tool which is also used to temporarily deactivate or re-enable software, drivers or services that run during startup process, so that the unwanted software's or programs will not be loaded during the windows starting and in-turn reduces the booting time.

msconfig.exe file is located in C:\Windows\System32 or you can easily find it by searching at start menu.

msconfig.exe file consist of the list of softwares or applications that are running at the startup of your the computer, and also contains the name of application publisher, path to the executable file, and  registry key location or shortcut that causes the application to run.

Clear the check box beside the application item to disable it on your next startup. If you've chosen Selective startup on the General tab, you must either choose Normal startup on the General tab or select the startup item’s check box to start it again at startup.

If you suspect an application has been compromised, examine the Command column to review the path to the executable file.

Alert note : Disabling applications that normally run at startup might result in related applications starting more slowly or not running as expected so be careful while remove applications from startup.

MSconfig.exe file looks like the screenshot shown below, deselect the applications as shown to remove applications from startup windows.
